Kilims/Flatweaves New & Antique Rug Gallery
Kilims are a strong feature in everyday Afghan life, and are made by all tribes throughout the area. The Kilim is in a different category than Persian and Oriental pile rugs. A Kilim denotes a pileless textile of many uses produced by one of several flatweaving techniques that have a common or closely related heritage and are practiced in the geographical area that includes parts of Turkey, North Africa, the Balkans, the Caucasus, Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Central Asia and China.
This is a small sample of our Rug collection. Please call with questions or to inquire about additional pieces.
