India New & Antique Rug Gallery

After the 18th century, the fame and success of Indian rugs spread, and workshops were set up throughout India. Today, after a decline in quality after the Second World War, they have greatly improved and are of high quality. Most of the early designs of the early rugs were Persian, but later on European and other elements were introduced to satisfy market demand.
